$9,318,620 JURY VERDICT

A Nassau County jury just awarded my 49 year old female client over $9.3M for neck and back injuries sustained as a result of being “T-boned” by a Town of Hempstead dump truck on Jerusalem Avenue in 2021. Since liability against the defendant was granted by summary judgment in September 2022, the accruing interest brings the total award to over $10.7M to date.

The defense argued that Plaintiff’s injuries were consistent with “cervical and lumbar sprains and were unrelated to the accident.” The defense attorney suggested the total award should be no more than $500,000. Clearly, the jury rejected the defense arguments and suggestion of minimal compensation and instead awarded the verdict that my client deserved.
